WebOct 7, 2024 · If you want the gantry to automatically square itself to the switches when homing, then you need two, on separate pins. If the gantry is always square, and you just want to home to a single switch, then the slave doesn't need a switch. So it's up to the people writing the plugin to get it to work correctly. I don't know why they don't work with homing. As far as probing, most dont support the GetVAR command, which is used to get the probed position. I wouldn't recommend any chinese controllers.

WebMay 21, 2024 · If you can get by with 4 motor outputs, the acorn is worth looking at. If you have dual drive motors, and wire them off of one motor output (hard paired) you might do fine with it but you couldn't auto square the gantry with software. The axyz I worked on had dual motors on the long axis.
